General Information
Protecting your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the applicable legal provisions, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy policy informs you about the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data within our online offering.
Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you personally. You can generally use our website without providing personal data, unless individual functions (e.g. the contact form) require such information.
Hosting and Server Log Files
Our website is hosted by an external service provider. The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers. Where required, a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.
Each time our website is accessed, information is automatically stored in so-called server log files that your browser transmits. These include in particular: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request and the IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources.
Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the security of our website. Log files are stored for security reasons and deleted after a short period.
Cookies and Consent
Our website uses cookies and comparable technologies in part (e.g. your browser's local storage, “localStorage”). These do not harm your device and contain no viruses. They help make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure.
Technically necessary cookies required for operating the website are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. All non-essential services — in particular web analytics — are only activated after your explicit consent via our consent banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We store your choice in your browser; you can revoke it at any time via your browser settings.
Contacting Us
If you contact us via the contact form, by email, telephone or WhatsApp, we process the data you provide in order to handle your enquiry. Via the contact form we collect in particular your name and email address as well as — where provided by you — your telephone number, number of travellers, desired travel period, type of safari and your message.
Enquiries sent via the form are forwarded for further processing to our email address (info@natureresponsiblesafari-uganda.com). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
If you contact us via WhatsApp, your data is additionally processed by the operator WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. / Meta Platforms. Please refer to WhatsApp's privacy information. For confidential matters we recommend contacting us by email.
The data you provide remains with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent, or the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Web Analytics with Google Analytics
This website uses — only with your consent — Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that enable an analysis of website use (e.g. pages visited, time spent, approximate location, device used).
Activation is handled via Google Consent Mode v2: before you consent, the storage of analytics cookies is disabled by default. Analytics data is only collected once you agree via the consent banner. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
Using Google Analytics may involve a transfer of data to Google servers, including in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information on how Google handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy.
Embedded Third-Party Content (YouTube)
We embed videos from the YouTube platform (provider: Google Ireland Limited) on our website. When you open a page with an embedded video, a connection to YouTube's servers is established, which may transmit technical data (including your IP address) to the provider. Where possible, we use YouTube's enhanced privacy mode. We have no influence over the data processing carried out by YouTube; Google's privacy policy applies.
Your Rights
Within the scope of the legal requirements, you have the following rights: access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR).
Where processing is based on your consent, you may revoke it at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of processing carried out until revocation remains unaffected. To exercise your rights, an informal message to info@natureresponsiblesafari-uganda.com is sufficient.
Irrespective of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
Storage Period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for erasure or revoke your consent, your data will be deleted unless there are legally permissible grounds for further storage (e.g. tax or commercial retention periods).
SSL/TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
Updates and Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is currently valid. As our website develops or due to changed legal or regulatory requirements, it may become necessary to amend this privacy policy. The current version can be accessed on this page at any time.
