Day by Day Program 14 Day Version - changes for 11 days as indicated

Day 1 – Arrival Day

arrival in Entebbe, Airport shuttle to your lodge

Overnight:  good midrange lodge– Meal Plan BB

Day 2– transfer to Rhino Sanctuary (11 Day Version - Day 2 and 3 merged)

after breakfast transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - if you arrive early afternoon in Ziwa an optional guided nature or nocturnal walk can be done to spot birds, wildlife and with luck the first rhinos (20$ per person)

Day 3 – Walking with Rhinos and transfer to Murchison Falls NP

Early  morning walking Safari with Rhinos, see the White Rhinos very close during a guided walking Safari. This is the best time of the day, as they have their active time in the morning. Then proceed with an lunch picnic at the top of the Murchison Falls viewpoint to Murchison Park. Feel the mightiness of this Nile Waterfall which is told the most powerful of the world as the Nile here has to pass a rock gorge which is  44m high and only 7 m wide. Afternoon Game Drive in Murchison Falls NP - you may be lucky and complete the spotting of all Big Five on your day 2 or3! 

In no other African country you discover as many different animals per day as in Uganda.

Day 4 – Murchison Falls NP with Nile River Boat Cruise

Game drive in Murchison Falls NP the morning, lunch break either at a Picnic Site or in the lodge,  Boat trip on River Nile to Murchison Falls in the afternoon. See hippos, crocodiles, elephants, a variety of birds and much more until you reach the waterfall.

Day 5 – Game Drive or Delta Boat in the morning, then transfer to Kibale Forest NP 

Transfer to Kibale, after a game drive in the morning or the fascinating Delta Cruise Boat Trip which starts with a sunrise over the Nile at 7 am before you will be transferred to Kibale (Boat is +50$, add on price for 2 or 3, included from 4 participants)

Transfer to Kibale, 6 hours drive on a scenic road along tea plantations and nice landscape.

Day 6 – Bigodi Wetlands and Top of the World Crater Hike ( Day 6 and 7 merged in 11 Day  Version) 

In the Morning Bigodi Wetlands walk to see endemic monkeys, birds and more - local lunch with explanations about traditional Ugandan food and meals at Tinka -in the afternoon the  top of the world crater and community walk (+15$) OR included Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

Day 7 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

From Kibale you proceed along an unpaved road along some crater lakes, in the morning an optional visit at a vanilla plantation community project is possible, where they harvest best organic vanilla and explain the whole process. The vanilla can be bought there and has an extraordinary quality - 2-5$ per big bean. When you buy some vanilla the tour is free, if not a donation is expected.  From there some banana (Matoke) markets will be passed - stop for pictures at Twin Lakes View Point.

Lunch stop near Kasese for a local lunch like Rolex or a goat barbeque - your driverguide will inform you.

You will reach the lodge in time for a sundowner.

Day 8 – Chimpanzee Tracking with Kazinga Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura gorge  in case Kibale is not available or Game Drive - followed by one of the highlight attractions in Uganda, the Kazinga Channel boat cruise.

Day 9 – Queen Elizabeth NP  and transfer to Bwindi

in the morning  game drive up to 11am, then you proceed with your lunchbox to Bwindi, the home of the gorillas.

Optional: the very recommended Lion and Predator Tracking early morning at 7 am. You are allowed to follow the trackers car with your safari vehicle off track and it is sure that they show you lions very close and probably a leopard as well. (+120$ - add on price for 2 or 3, included from 4 participants)

Day 10 – The magic encounter with the last Mountain Gorillas or Nature Walk

Your Gorilla tracking day - the gorilla tracking is optional on extra cost of 800 $ for the permit. For those who are not tracking a guided Community and Nature walk can be arranged (extra cost 20$ outside the NP, as birding walk inside the NP it is 70$)

After the track or walk transfer to Lake Bunyonyi along a scenic road – transfer time 3 hours. If  you have enough time  an optional  stop can be done at a view point overlooking the lake. Your Lodge is situated  directly at the shores of the lake. with very good swimming possibilities from its private swimming decks. The lake is very clean and safe for swimming. Transfer to the lodge by boat.

Day 11 - Lake Bunyonyi Boat Trip (11 Day Version Lake Bunyonyi is skipped)

This morning our local guide will pick you up at the lodge for your Lake Bunyonyi boat trip and market visit (market only on Mondays and Fridays). 

During the boat trip our local guide can arrange guided hikes from easy to medium on the islands, or a visit at the climbing park with canopy walk and Zip Line over the lake, or standup paddling. If you are interested  a visit a Healthcenter our a school  is recommendable.

Day 12 – Transfer to Lake Mburo NP

transfer to Lake Mburo  NP. Around Lake Mburo long horn cattle ,so called Ankole cattle, is raised. The National Park is a small but extraordinary beautiful park. The only one with Zebras on your trip. But as well giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes including Eland antelopes and impalas and much more. It is as well a top birding destination.

Day 13– Game Drive and Transfer to Entebbe - possibility to fly home in the evening

Early morning  game drive.

Transfer to Entebbe via the Equator Memorial.

If your flight back starts in the evening we might drop  you at the Airport.

Day 14– Entebbe – optional Shoebill Boat Trip or Back Home

Shoebill boat trip in the morning or afternoon (you will be picked up at the lodge for the boattrip). A short guided walk will bring you to the boat. There are only about 25 of these prehistorical looking birds in the Mabamba Swamps. Our team of local guides will guide you in small canoes through the swamps to spot at least one of them – then relax time in Entebbe before the flight back home. 

Shoebill is optional for 2-3 participants (+50$) and included from 4 participants
