Day 1

Arrival in Entebbe - transfer to the guesthouse

Day 2

Transfer to Jinja.  In the afternoon  boat trip to the source of the Nile. Beautiful birds can be photographed from the boat.

Day 3

Transfer to Sipi Falls via Mbale. 

Sipi Falls consists of three beautiful waterfalls in eastern Uganda that originate in the Mt Elgon Mountains. In the Lonely Planet travel guide, they were described as the most romantic waterfalls. Depending on the condition, you can hike up or down all 3 waterfalls or let our driver drive you close to the different waterfalls and hike just a short distance. Swimming is possible in some pools below the falls. 

In the afternoon, you will visit a small organic coffee plantation and experience how coffee is processed from harvest to cup.

Day 4

Transfer to Moroto along a scenic road. You are getting deeper and deeper into the region of Karamajong. A semi-nomadic tribe, similar to the Maasai.

Day 5 

In the morning you can take an optional, easy hike (please just mention at check-in!)  into the Karamajong Valley with a local guide. 

TIP: ask on arrival if there is a cattle market nearby today or tomorrow. Then definitely prefer this visit to the hike. As well the next day, before continuing to Kidepo, there is enough time to visit a cattle market.

In the afternoon, a half-day tour to a manyatta and kraal of the Karamajong is on the program (included in the price) to explore Karamajong life. The Manyatta is the traditional village. Here you can participate in the activities of daily life. Local food is prepared together and participation in celebrations is possible. The kraal is the cattle enclosure. There you can watch in the evening how the cattle are brought back to the gates for the night and (if you wish) also observe the traditional bloodletting of one of the cows. Blood is tapped, which is drunk as a meal or added to food.

Day 6

Transfer to Kidepo NP.

Day 7

Game drive in Kidepo, a still very pristine national park with huge herds of buffalo, Rothschild giraffes and rare birds.

Day 9

Transfer from Kidepo to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Day 10

Early morning walking safari with rhinos - get up close with white rhinos during an easy, guided hike. After you proceed to Murchison Falls NP. You will enjoy your packed lunch as a picnic at the viewpoint of the upper part of the Murchison Falls. Then you cross the Nile bridge to a first game drive in Murchison NP.

Day 11

Game drive in the morning, boat trip to the waterfalls in the afternoon. Optional on extra cost you can chose the small, private boat which can get closer to the birds, slows down when you need it, for example, because you didn't finish your photo.

Day 12

Optional boat trip to the Nile Delta (+50) or game drive in the morning. 

Transfer to Kibale along a beautiful landscape and tea plantations via Fort Portal.

Day 13

In the morning Bigodi Wetlands walk to see endemic monkeys, birds and more - afterwards you are invited to a local lunch with explanations of Ugandan food culture at Tinka's - in the afternoon possible Chimpanzee tracking - then transfer to QE NP

Day 14

Early morning chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura - optional or Game drive.

At 2pm, the boat trip along the famous Kazinga Canal departs from Mweya Lodge Pier, where you can see a variety of wildlife and birds on the banks and in the water.

Day 15

In the early morning either game drive or as Option a Lion - Predator Tracking can take place before the trip to Bwindi. Surcharge $120 – a highly recommended new activity in this park. They meet with the tracker and his team at the gate and are allowed to follow him through the park outside the official paths. He will track down several groups of lions for you, with luck you will experience the lions at breakfast in the morning. Then it's off to leopard search. Afterwards continue to Bwindi Ruhjia Gate - depending on the available permits

Day 16

Gorilla Day (optional +800$)

or if you want to skip the gorillas, you may opt for a nature walk.

After the track you proceed to Lake Bunyonyi - Transfer to the lodge by boat.

Day 17

Lake Bunyonyi boat trip ( Mondays and Fridays with market visit ) with a local guide - from 9.30 am - 4:00 pm. Lake Bunyonyi is a perfect and safe lake for swimming.

Day 18

Transfer to Lake Mburo NP. Longhorn cattle, so-called Ankole cattle, are bred around Lake Mburo. The national park is a small but extraordinarily beautiful park. The only one with zebras on your trip. But also giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes including eland antelopes and impalas and much more. It is also a top birding destination. Afternoon game drive.

Day 19

Morning game drive. Transfer to Entebbe via the Equator Monument with lunch break (lunch included in the price) and optional stop at a drum factory, the only place in Uganda where the traditional drums are made. However, everyone in Uganda who demonstrates, explains or shows something in return. Either you buy something or leave a small donation. You will reach Entebbe around 17:00.

Day 20

Shoebill boat safari in Mabamba Swamps - our local guide will pick you up at your lodge. Departure in the afternoon, evening or at night
